{"id":1867,"date":"2019-07-24T13:03:57","date_gmt":"2019-07-24T11:03:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.smile-interreg.eu\/?p=1867"},"modified":"2025-05-08T14:25:07","modified_gmt":"2025-05-08T12:25:07","slug":"seminar-education-of-primary-healthcare-professionals-in-disability-communication-issues-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.smile-interreg.eu\/bg\/2019\/07\/24\/seminar-education-of-primary-healthcare-professionals-in-disability-communication-issues-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Seminar &#8222;Education of Primary Healthcare Professionals in Disability Communication Issues&#8220;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the framework of the SMiLe project, a seminar titled &#8222;Training Primary Healthcare Professionals in Disability Issues&#8220; was held on the 24<sup>th<\/sup> of July 2019, at the School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh).<\/p>\n<p>The seminar was attended by around 25 people, most of them doctors and nurses from health centers and local health units in Macedonia.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>first part<\/strong> of the seminar was devoted to familiarizing participants with the basic theoretical principles of disability, with presentations by prof. Alexis Benos, Assistant Professor of Primary Health Care and Medical Education of AUTh\u2019s Department of Medicine, Manolis Smyrnakis, Dr. Panagiotis Tsalis, civil engineer specialized on accessibility and Georgia Fyka, social worker with specialization in Disability Studies and Health Services\u2019 Management.<\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>second part<\/strong> of the seminar, the participants were divided into working groups, attending clinical scenarios coordinated by Paschalina Kalle, a mobility instructor for persons with visual impairments, Spyros Kouzelis, sign language interpreter, and Georgia Fyka.<\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>third and final part<\/strong> of the seminar, an evaluation by the participants took place<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the framework of the SMiLe project, a seminar titled &#8222;Training Primary Healthcare Professionals in Disability Issues&#8220; was held on the 24th of July 2019, at the School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh).
