The event took place at Chris &amp; Eve Mansion, in Komotini, on Friday, 7 December 2018 and focused in the following topics:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Primary Healthcare Accessibility<\/li>\n<li>Primary Healthcare Evaluation<\/li>\n<li>Organizational cooperation in the field of Primary Healthcare<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event had as an overall goal to develop a citizens-user oriented common management plan for the healthcare needs of the area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Local authorities, Patients\u2019 and Persons with Disabilities Associations, Medical and Pharmaceutical Professional Associations, as well as representatives of Secondary Healthcare Institutions took part in the event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event started with a short presentation of the SMiLe project &#8211; <strong>S<\/strong>trengthening primary <strong>M<\/strong>edical care in <strong>I<\/strong>soLated and deprived cross-border ar<strong>E<\/strong>as- that is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and by national funds of the countries participating in INTERREG V-A \u201cGreece-Bulgaria 2014-2020\u2033Cooperation Programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 4<sup>th<\/sup> Health District of Macedonia Thrace and its role in providing Primary Health Care were presented by the 4th Health District Manager <strong>Efstratios Plomaritis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Professor <strong>Alexis Benos<\/strong> of the Medical School of the AUTh presented the intervention framework for Primary Health Care.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">An open discussion on the project themes, as well as topics, brought up by the participating institutions followed.
